Well hey there. It’s been awhile. But who cares about that. I have something cool to say! Around the beginning of August, I felt the Lord say, “It’s preparation month.” I felt lead to study certain things intensely and just make sure I was spending all the time I could with the Lord. I also felt that, not only was I supposed to spiritually prepare myself but also prepare some things around my house and just get my stuff in order. It’s seems to me the spiritual season is shifting, and I’ve asked the Lord to prepare me for wherever that might lead. To me this was a direct answer to that prayer.

So fast forward to September 1st . I was switching over my calendar when I noticed that September 17h is Rosh Hashanah- also known as the Jewish New Year, also known as The Feast of Trumpets- and decided to look into it more and see how Jewish people celebrate it. I’ve always been really fascinated by Jewish holidays and have wanted to observe them better than I do now. As I was reading, I came across this: “The Feast of Trumpets (Rosh HaShanah) was celebrated at the beginning of the month Tishri, the first month of the civil year. It was one of the seven days of holy convocation. Tishri ( Sept-Oct) is the seventh month of the Biblical calendar, and as such parallels the Sabbath as a special and holy time to seek God. The previous month of Elul (August- Sept) is the time of preparation just as Friday is the Day of Preparation for Shabbat. This season is a time of reflection, contemplation, and putting things in order and getting right our relationship with God.”

I pretty much fell out of my chair. And also laughed. First of all, while I knew September was the month Jewish New Year fell in, I didn’t know about the August-September PREPARATION MONTH!! No clue. So when the Lord told me, “It’s preparation month,” He didn’t mean just for me like I originally thought. He meant it’s LITERALLY preparation month! Haha! Soooooo amazing!!! And not only did He tell me what month it was, he told me what to do about it. I love that at the end of that quote it says, “This season is a time of reflection, contemplation, and putting things in order and getting right our relationship with God.” That’s EXACTLY what I felt the Lord tell me to do! I can’t get over how cool that is. I LOVE the gift of the Holy Spirit and how we are just able to communicate with Him and know His will and know the seasons we’re in. I love getting confirmation over and over again that I’m not making this stuff up! We REALLY hear Him! It never gets old. It never ceases to blow my mind. He is just SO GOOD!
